Isle Of Man Recruitment Firm For Over 50s Launches

Mannin Recruitment To Serve Retired People In The Isle Of Man. More retired people want to go back work at some point following retirement according to employment and that's why Mannin Recruitment, the Isle of Man's only professional employment agency for over 50s, has been established.

Isle of Man, British Isles (PRWEB) November 24, 2008 -- More retired people want to go back work at some point following retirement according to employment and that's why Mannin Recruitment, the Isle of Man's only professional employment agency for over 50s, has been established, it was announced today.

"Although many people dream of kicking back on a sun lounger somewhere hot once they've retired, the reality is, with all this extra time on their hands many over 50s want to return to employment," explains Graham Shaw, proprietor, Mannin Recruitment. "And this demographic has a lot to offer employers that they might find lacking in some younger candidates such as a strong work ethic, reliability and crucial experience."

Ten per cent of retired people now work part-time for an average of 14 hours per week to supplement their income, according to a recent study by insurer GE Life. In addition, 71% of those aged between 50 and pension age are in employment.

"There are about 8,000 retired people on the Island who could potentially go back into work, but they face challenges," says Graham. "Often a retired person's network of contacts is also retired. And, many older people have never used the services of an employment agency and may be wary of going down this route. They just don't fancy the prospect of being interviewed by someone who might be younger than their own children!"

As Graham explains, "I sold my business four years ago with the intention of retiring, but I soon realised I actually needed the motivation of a work environment to keep me sane! It's a big change to go from working your entire life to having to find something to fill each day."

Mannin Recruitment is Graham's first venture into recruitment. Previously he was proprietor the successful Mannin Foods, a frozen food manufacturer. As a business owner, he experienced the challenge that unreliable and inexperienced staff can present to a company. He knows that the service you offer to your customers is only as good as the people you employ and he sees a real gap in the market for a service like Mannin Recruitment.

Mannin Recruitment will serve employers across all industry sectors and retail and transportation will be core markets.

At Mannin Recruitment, the aim is to keep the process as simple as possible. There is just one easy form to complete, then applicants will be introduced to the relevant employers. If the potential employer and employee are happy with each other they will take it from there and agree terms and conditions between themselves.

Graham is a Manxman. He is married to Doreen and has four grown up children all living on the Island. If you'd like more information or have any questions please feel free to get in with touch Graham.
