The International Association for Human Resource Information Management (IHRIM) is offering the first exam preparation course for its new Professional of Human Resources Information (PHRI) certification, which is designed to assess the knowledge and competencies of professionals in the HR technology field. Passing the exam indicates a demonstrated comprehensive understanding and proficiency of the defined body of knowledge in HR information management.

The course will be held July 15 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Chicago, the day before IHRIM’s 2009 Global Forum. It will be offered at a special registration fee of $295 for IHRIM members and $395 for non-members. All attendees will receive the PHRI Examination Study Guide – a $59.95 value – free. Those who also attend the Global Forum will receive $100 off the course registration fee.

“This course is designed to help certification candidates determine their existing level of understanding of key knowledge areas to adequately prepare for the PHRI certification exam,” said Lynne Mealy, IHRIM president and CEO.

The course will cover and assess the following topics:
1.      Technology Strategy and Solution Assessment – Candidates need to determine business needs when creating strategic plans for the design and deployment of human resource technology and service delivery models for the enterprise.

2.      HR Technology and Business Processes – Candidates must understand the technologies and HR processes that support HR service delivery, and the use and advantages of technology and systems throughout the HR function.

3.      Systems Selections, Implementations and Upgrades – Candidates must be knowledgeable about systems selection, implementation and upgrade methodologies and best practices to keep HR systems plans on track and improve chances for success.

4.      HR Systems Operations – Candidates need to be familiar with ongoing processes involved in HR systems management, maintenance and operational considerations.

“Those who will gain the most from the course include HR professionals with three to five years of experience in HR technology who are unsure if they have the breadth of knowledge needed to pass the PHRI certification examination,” Mealy said. “The HR professional with five or more years of experience in HR technology will benefit as well.” Visit www.IHRIM.org to learn more and register.
